Mohammad Haris Shamsi earned a Master of Science degree in Energy Technologies in 2016 under a dual-degree mobility program organised by the company KIC InnoEnergy from Instituto Superior Tecnico and Uppsala University. Haris is an electrical engineer with a specialization in energy engineering and management.
Haris was awarded a PhD in 2020 under the supervision of Dr. James O’Donnell at University College Dublin. His research focused on the formulation of reduced-order models to estimate the integrated end-use demand. Over the course of his PhD research, Haris extensively collaborated in different projects that focused on urban building stock modeling, data-driven building energy modeling, PV system optimization for neighborhoods, development of a DESTEST framework and district scale energy systems modeling. His research interests include building energy modeling, grey-box models, data-driven models, machine learning, system identification and uncertainty analysis.
